i'll be darned. i'm 78, and hiked a bit. i have watched many "advice" videos. Mowser makes important points, as others do; however, none of the advice videos i have watched, have related one important point when you hike, and that is, turn around, to see what the way back looks like; Mowser states this in his video. [It is usually completely different from what you see in front of you, and knowing what the way back looks like can save you from getting lost.] Kudos to you, Mowser for sharing these spot-on tips; your experience shows.
